Camy Loves Oatmeal!

Camy got a taste of "real" food for the first time on Friday night. We skipped over the rice cereal step and went right to oatmeal. Camy loves it and got the hang of eating with a spoon real quick. Hoping this will help fill her belly at night to sleep longer at night!!!

Stryker Picnic 2011

We went to the Stryker picnic this weekend and had a blast. I planned this same picnic for years while I was in HR but never realized how cool it was until I had kids. . . Macy had a blast. There was so much to do. A lot of it was geared towards older kids but the stuff Macy was able to do she loved!!! And Camy just sat back in the stroller and enjoyed the beautiful weather!

Camy Jade: 4 Months Old

Little Miss Camy is 4 months old - she is getting big too fast. I need to find the pause button!!! At her 4 month check-up she was 13 lbs 6 oz (50%) and 24 1/2 in long (60%). She continues to be such a good little baby. She loves spending her days with Grandma Mary while we are at work and then enjoys "playing" with her sister at night. Macy has really taken an interest in Camy lately. If Camy is on the floor or in her exersaucer, Macy is right there with her handing her toys (or taking them away from her. . . depending on her mood). And Camy always has her eye on Macy too. . . she always knows where she is in the room and smiles when she sees her. I can already see the two of them are going to be great little playmates soon.

Camy continues to sleep pretty good. She usually sleeps from about 10PM - 5AM which is perfect. She has started to eat more formula at each sitting so I am thinking we will start cereal pretty soon!!!

We went to our church's summer picnic this weekend with Nana Mary. The weather was beautiful so I dressed the girls in my favorite matching summer outfits one last time!!!!

Camy Rolls Over!!!

Macy has been diligently trying to get Camy to roll over for some time now. She will lay with her on the floor and demonstrate and says "roll baby roll" to her. She was doing that again on Thursday (Sept 8th) and low and behold Camy rolled from her back to her tummy!!!!! We were all very excited and caught it all on tape. Here are a few photos I exported from the video.

Side note: my mom and I have an agreement that she wont tell me about any of Camy's "firsts" if they happen during the day while I am at work. But now that she finally did it at home, mom confessed that she has rolled both ways about a month ago but hasn't done it since. Now that she has done it at home, she has been consistently rolling over. She is getting SO BIG!

Labor Day Camping Trip 2011

One again we went on our annual Labor Day camping trip with our friends: Kyle/Tara Coffindaffer, Aaron/Kelly Mills, Keith/Corrine Coffindaffer and Jason/Crystal Seward. And of course all the kiddos. . .Tyler, Ethan, Aylee, Addy, Breslyn, June and Veda!!!
This year we tried Mear's State Park in Pentwater, MI. The park was nice and right on Lake Michigan. However, holy smokes. . . we had beach sand everywhere. . . it was impossible to keep the kids clean (or our camper for that matter). But the kids had a ball. . . our campsite was like one big sand box.

Macy and I woke up early every morning and took a long walk down to the pier to watch the boats and look at the water. The waves were HUGE and the wind was crazy every morning.

Poor Camy was at the doctor's the morning we left to go camping. She had an ear infection. She was a trooper any way but when it got cold she spent her time inside with me. She loved to sit in her saucer looking out at the kids playing.

It rained on and off the whole time. Macy went out in the rain a lot but during the rare times she was in the camper she enjoyed doing some coloring!

One of the days, we walked into the little downtown area of Pentwater and took the girls to a bar for the first time. . . Yep, we are officially "those parents" now!!! So much fun though, we sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful day.
