Macy sleeps through the night!!

Since Macy was born, her pediatrician has had her sleeping in her car seat due to reflux. He recommended that she keep sleep in there until her 4 month appointment; however we opted to move her to the crib a little earlier than that. She seemed very uncomfortable in the car seat at night and would almost wiggle herself out of the seat. The transition went very well and she loves the crib! We have a video monitor and it is so much fun to watch her kick and move around in the crib now that she has space to wiggle!! And after only 2 nights in the crib she slept through the night for the first time on Friday!! She slept until 6AM. It has happened 2 of the last 3 nights - WoooHoo! Hopefully this pattern continues!!

Mommy's Birthday Weekend

Greg & Macy made me a homemade chocolate cake for my birthday!!

Saturday night we went to South Haven to visit with the Ferrell family (John, Donna, Evan and Connor). John was my boss when I worked in the HR department.

Macy is so proud of herself when I prop her up on the couch next to us. She of course falls over after a little bit but she loves sitting up while it lasts!!!

Back to Work!

I am excited to be back to work but it is such a difficult transition to not be home with Macy all day. But knowing that she is with my sister makes all the difference in the world. Macy loves Aunt Jen and the entire Wisti family and she is in good hands. I cannot thank them enough!!! Here is the fantastic email update (and pictures) I received from Jennifer the first day:

“You definitely will not receive pictures from us each day (even if they are takenJ), but this is a very special day!! Zachary woke up at 6:30am to wait her arrival. I really think the two of them are going to have a special bond. You should see them alone together!! Whenever he passes by her in a room, he always comes back quickly to give her a little kiss before running out again. Greg wasn’t even down the driveway, and Zach was asking to hold her (picture #1). He then proceeded to read her some poems from his school binder and sing her some songs. He actually put her to sleep while she was on her blanket on the floor…40 minute catnap at 10:00am (pictures #2 and #3)!! He covered her up like that before he came in the kitchen to tell me she was asleep. And finally, rest assured, we found some toys for her (the remaining photos)!! We are having a great day, but Macy misses you (of course)!! – Jennifer”

Macy meets Abby!

Macy got to meet another new friend this past weekend! Abby is the daughter of my friend Nancy. Abby is about 6 months older than Macy (and a lot stronger)!!!

4th of July at the cabin

This weekend we went on our annual trip to Greg's cabin in Omer, MI (Standish). Tara's family has a cabin right next to the Courtney cabin so there are always a ton of people celebrating the 4th of July together. This is the 20th year the two families have been going to the cabins on the 4th of July. In years past, it has been more of an adult party type weekend but as we have all had children it is much more kid friendly and family based fun now (until the kids go to bed at dark!!!)

Macy was spoiled this 4th of July with lots of cute 4th of July outfits!! Thank you so much to everyone who made sure she was styling for the Holiday. I changed her numerous times during the day in order to wear them all!! I don't think I got a photo of all of them but here is a sampling!!!

Greg and I bought this "puffy" vest the day we found out we were pregnant. We figured girl or boy, he/she could wear it to the 4th of July! Macy was adorable in it around the campfire that night!

Newborn Photos - finally posted!

I was just reminded that I never posted Macy's newborn photos. These photos were taken when she was 10 days old. She was supposed to sleep during them but instead was WIDE AWAKE! She made it difficult but we managed to get a few good ones. I have printing rights to these photos so if anyone would like copies, let me know and I can email the high-resolution file to you. These are the low-resolution versions just so they upload faster.

Today Macy and I went to visit Katie Mills and her new baby Jillian. I work with Katie's husband Brian. Jillian was born 3 days before Macy at the same hospital.

Oops - guess I should have pulled Macy's skirt down a bit so it isn't hiked up and you can't see up it - oh well still cute!
