I can’t believe Macy is 18 months old already!!! Where did the last 6 months go??? We just had her check up and she is 24 ¾ pounds (50th percentile) and her height is 32 inches (50th percentile as well). She continues to be a wonderful loving baby girl. She has enough hugs and kisses for everyone! She is talking quite a bit. She knows quite a few words and uses them when she wants something. Her favorite word is “please” because she learned that if she says “please” we will let her have just about anything (remote control, etc) because it is just too darn cute when she says it! She constantly mimics sounds and repeats what we say (yikes!). She is also putting words together (i.e. “more please”). She continues to love being outside, it is her favorite part of the day when daddy gets home and she gets to play outside. She is learning so much. . . she is a little sponge soaking up information these days. She loves books. . . and not just eating them like previously, now she always wants to be read to. . . Greg and I could recite “Goodnight Moon” and “Busy Bunny” in our sleep!!
Macy started a new daycare this week. As much as we initially enjoyed the center based daycare she was going to, they just went through a lot of staff changes and we felt the care was not as good as it had been. We will forever be grateful for the really fantastic teachers Macy had there (Miss Lorene, Miss Rachael, Miss Debbie, Miss Sara and Miss Marie) and all of the friends Macy made there. It made it tough to leave but we know it was for the best. We were blessed enough to have found a really great in-home daycare that came very highly recommended from a few co-workers. As luck would have it, Macy’s friend Hayden also made the switch at the same time. Macy and Hayden have never been apart (Aunt Jen watched them both prior to the center) so keeping them together was a must! As silly as it sounds, I really think Macy found comfort in having little Hayden there on the first day of the new daycare. She kept hugging Hayden and even Hayden would reach over and touch Macy. The adjustment seems to be going really great. Macy doesn’t cry when I drop her off and I know she is getting great care during the day. My mom will continue to watch Macy one day a week . . . neither Grandma nor Macy want to give up their special day each week!!!!
Macy has been a good little companion now that it is hunting season. We manage to find our own trouble while daddy is in the woods!!! Here are pictures from Macy’s 18 month photo shoot this weekend. There is a story as to why she is wearing two different outfits. I brought her there in her pretty pink dress and had my heart set on her wearing that and having the black/white background. But she wanted nothing to do with it. . . she ran away in every photo. . .

Running Away!

Not happy to have her picture taken.

Get me out of here!!
So then the photographer wanted me to get in the photo with her which I was less than thrilled about but we ended up getting a cute shot.

Mommy and Macy
So then we were going to call it a day and leave so I took her cute dress off and put her jeans on to head home when a second photographer stopped me and said she would like to try to take the photos. . . so we tried and actually got a couple good ones and Macy had fun doing it!!! Even though I wished her hair was still combed and her pretty dress was on, I will take what I can get!!
